Honoring Mrs. Lorraine Wang, a great philanthropic leader

I had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. An Wang and Mrs. Lorraine Wang in 1986 when I was interviewing for the position of President & CEO of the then Wang Center for the Performing Arts. Although Dr. Wang is credited with saving the Wang Theatre, without Lorraine’s passion for the arts and for our organization, the family’s investment in the theatre would never have materialized. Lorraine then went on to serve as the Honorary Chair of the Center for decades, and her inspirational leadership has fueled who we are as an organization for many years now. I am extremely honored to have known her and to have worked closely with her. She and her late husband were philanthropic leaders and their contributions to this organization and to the broader community will surely live on. I am humbled and proud to represent the Wang Family as head of the Center, and on behalf of our entire team, I want to say thank you to Mrs. Wang. You are loved deeply and will be sorely missed. – Joe Spaulding, President & CEO, Citi Performing Arts Center
